Sam Doying recently assumed the Sales Director role for Sun Microsystems’s West Area Storage Practice where he leads the sales and sales engineering teams responsible for growing Sun’s evolving and expanding storage business.
Prior to this, Sam lead various sales teams focused on Sun’s high technology and internet customers.
Sam joined Sun in November 2003 from Capgemini, where he served as a Vice President of Consulting and Alliance Services and managed a number of key high technology clients. He spent twelve years in consulting with Capgemini and Ernst & Young.
Sam’s career focus has been to impact, in significant and lasting ways, the companies and people with whom he works. As such, his approach focuses on immediate and sustainable results, pushing the outer elements of the corporate strategy, and a value-based commitment to people development.
Sam holds an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and a BS in Finance from San Jose State University.
He resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with his wife, a psychologist in-training focused on teenage and women’s issues. His two daughters and their significant others live nearby.
