Peter J. Valenti, III holds a MBA from Cornell’s Johnson School of Management and a BS from The University of Connecticut. In early 2007 he joined Covidien (formerly Tyco Healthcare) as Vice President and General Manager of the Surgical Devices US Business. In his current role, he is leading the US commercial sales and marketing strategy looking to transform customer relationships and perceptions.

Peter previously spent over 12 years with Johnson & Johnson serving in a variety of US and International roles across the consumer, pharmaceutical and device business landscape. His most recent roles were: Vice President Global Strategy for Vision Care, and serving as the lead on Marketing and Marketing services organization design for J&J’s $16.7B acquisition of Pfizer Consumer Healthcare. Prior to his career with Johnson & Johnson, Peter held several brand management roles with Procter & Gamble.

His career focus has been taking slow to no growth businesses and helping lead them to sustained high performance. Peter’s approach to growth incorporates establishing a strong foundation with fundamentals while driving innovation through challenging the existing business model, leveraging new mediums and extensive use of innovative processes such as Test & Learns. To support the business transformation he drives a relentless commitment to organization and people development.

Peter resides in Connecticut with his wife and three children.
