Malcolm Rees

Global Head of Sales
DHL Express

Malcolm Rees is currently the Global Head of Sales for DHL Express based out of Bonn, Germany. Within this role he leads the global sales strategy for a €17b organisation that has over 6000 sales people and provides leadership to drive the organisation to become a world class sales organisation. Malcolm also chairs the Global Sales Steering Group that approves all sales development investment in systems and processes. His major areas of responsibility within his role are Sales Force Automation, Sales Training and Education, Sales Development, Sales Innovation and Global Sales Reporting. DHL Express operates in 5 major regions and covers 228 countries.

Prior to his global role he was Vice President of Sales for DHL Express, Asia Pacific where he had responsibility for 2000 sales people and saw revenue growth of over 15% per annum during his 5 year tenure in the role. He was instrumental in implementing the most successful Sales Force Automation deployment of any region attaining a usage level of 95% within 18 months of implementation. Malcolm also developed a sales benchmarking system that identified the top, middle and bottom performing sales people and then tailored sales coaching according to performance. This process was instrumental in driving the revenue growth to new heights in Asia.

Preceding his sales career Malcolm was the Vice President of 11 Countries in Asia Pacific and had full P&L responsibility for the area. He has also been Managing Director of DHL Singapore and Malaysia and also was VP of Operations for Asia Pacific for 4 years.

Malcolm has been in DHL Express for 29 years after joining the company in the UK in a sales role.
